Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch: Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Series Arrives in India
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch The Galaxy Tab S12 series is designed for users who want a tablet capable of handling work, entertainment and creative tasks. Rather than positioning the tablets only as larger-screen media devices, Samsung is presenting them as productivity machines for professionals, students, creators and people who want a laptop-like experience in a thinner form factor.
The new lineup includes two models: the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S12+. The Ultra is the larger and more feature-rich version, while the S12+ offers a slightly more compact design without giving up the flagship processor, AMOLED display technology or S Pen support.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch Both tablets run Android 17 with Samsung’s One UI 9 interface. Samsung has also promised long-term software support, including up to seven years of updates, making the tablets suitable for users who plan to keep their devices for several years.news.
Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra: Designed for Maximum Screen Space
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is the flagship model in the new series. It features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2,960 × 1,848 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The large panel is designed for people who frequently work with multiple apps, edit images and videos, take handwritten notes or watch films on a tablet.
The 120Hz refresh rate should make scrolling, drawing and navigating through menus feel smooth. It can also improve the experience when using the S Pen, particularly for handwriting and sketching. Samsung says the display can reach peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits and includes its Vision Booster technology, which adjusts brightness and contrast according to surrounding conditions.Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch The tablet has slim bezels and measures only 5.1mm in thickness. The Wi-Fi model weighs approximately 692 grams, while the 5G version weighs around 695 grams. Despite its large size, Samsung has focused on keeping the design thin enough for carrying between home, office and college.
The Ultra model also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. This protection does not make the tablet indestructible, but it offers additional reassurance against accidental exposure to water and dust during daily use.
Galaxy Tab S12+: A More Practical Flagship Option
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch The Galaxy Tab S12+ is smaller than the Ultra, but it remains a high-end tablet. It comes with a 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display featuring a resolution of 2,800 × 1,752 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Its smaller screen makes the S12+ easier to handle in meetings, classrooms and travel situations. Users who want a premium display but do not need the enormous 14.6-inch panel may find the Plus model more convenient. It also weighs approximately 553 grams and measures around 5.3mm in thickness, making it substantially lighter than the Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch The S12+ is particularly suitable for people who want to read documents, join video calls, take notes and enjoy entertainment without carrying a very large tablet. It retains the same flagship processor and core software experience as the Ultra, so the difference between the two models is mainly related to size, battery capacity and camera configuration.
MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Powers Both Tablets
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch One of the biggest changes in the Galaxy Tab S12 series is the use of MediaTek’s 3nm Dimensity 9500 processor. Both the Ultra and S12+ are designed to deliver fast performance for demanding applications, multitasking and creative workflows.
The processor is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage in the Indian Wi-Fi configurations reported at launch. Some international configurations offer higher memory and storage options, depending on the market. Both tablets support microSD cards with capacities of up to 2TB, allowing users to store large video files, photographs, documents and games
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch For a professional user, the combination of a powerful processor and large screen could be useful for editing documents while keeping a browser or messaging application open. Students could use the tablet for online lectures, research and handwritten notes at the same time. Creators may also benefit from the larger display when working on illustrations, video timelines or photo-editing projects.
Actual performance will depend on the applications being used, software optimisation and thermal management. However, the Dimensity 9500 gives the two tablets flagship-level hardware rather than the mid-range processors commonly found in large Android tablets.
Galaxy AI and Productivity Features
Samsung is also using Galaxy AI as a central part of the Tab S12 experience. AI-powered tools are intended to help users with tasks such as summarising information, organising notes, editing content and improving productivity.
The S Pen is included in the box, which is important because the tablets are positioned as work and creativity devices. Users can write notes, annotate documents, mark up PDFs, draw illustrations and control certain features without needing to purchase a separate stylus.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch The large screen is also useful for Samsung DeX, the company’s desktop-style interface. DeX allows users to open multiple windows, resize applications and work with a layout that resembles a traditional computer. With a keyboard accessory, the tablet can become a portable workstation for email, documents and presentations.
However, buyers should remember that a tablet cannot replace every laptop for every type of work. Applications designed specifically for desktop operating systems may still offer more advanced features. The Galaxy Tab S12 series is best suited to users whose daily work depends on mobile applications, browser-based tools, handwritten notes and document editing.
Battery Life and Charging
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is equipped with an 11,600mAh battery, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ carries a 10,600mAh battery. Samsung claims that the Ultra can provide up to 23 hours of continuous use and the S12+ can deliver up to 21 hours, although real-world battery life will vary based on brightness, network connectivity, gaming and video playback.news.
The larger battery in the Ultra matches its larger display. Users who regularly watch videos, edit files or work away from a power outlet may prefer the additional capacity. The S12+ should offer a good balance between endurance and portability because its display is smaller and its overall weight is lower.
Both tablets support 45W charging. Charging speed can be affected by the charger used, cable quality and the tablet’s temperature. Buyers should check whether a compatible charging adapter is included with the retail package or needs to be purchased separately.Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch
Camera Features
Tablets are not usually purchased primarily for their cameras, but the Galaxy Tab S12 series includes cameras suitable for video calls, scanning documents and basic photography.Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has a 13-megapixel primary rear camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. It also features a 12-megapixel front camera. The additional ultrawide rear camera can be useful for capturing a wider view, scanning larger documents or taking photographs when more of the scene needs to fit into the frame.
The S12+ includes a 13-megapixel rear camera, while both models are designed to support clear video calls. For office meetings, remote classes and online interviews, the front camera should be more relevant than the rear cameras.
As with most tablets, the camera system is likely to be adequate for productivity rather than a replacement for a dedicated smartphone camera. Users who prioritise photography may still prefer a premium phone with more advanced image-processing features.Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch

Ultra or S12+: Which One Should You Buy?
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is the better option for users who want the largest possible workspace. Its 14.6-inch screen is more comfortable for split-screen multitasking, professional drawing, video editing and cinematic entertainment. Its larger battery and additional ultrawide camera also make it the more complete model.
The Galaxy Tab S12+ is more practical for users who value portability. Its 12.6-inch display remains large enough for productivity, but the lighter body should be easier to hold and carry. It also offers the same Dimensity 9500 processor, S Pen support, AMOLED display technology and Galaxy AI features.
Choosing between them depends less on performance and more on working style. A designer, editor or multitasking professional may appreciate the Ultra’s extra screen space. A student, consultant or frequent traveller may prefer the S12+ because it is easier to transport.
Final Perspective
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ represent Samsung’s effort to make premium Android tablets more capable as laptop alternatives. Their strongest features include high-quality 120Hz AMOLED displays, powerful Dimensity 9500 hardware, included S Pen support, large batteries, expandable storage and Galaxy AI tools.Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch
The Ultra is aimed at users who want the biggest screen and the most complete tablet experience, while the S12+ provides a more balanced design for everyday portability. Starting at ₹1,29,999, both tablets sit firmly in the premium segment, so they will appeal most to buyers who specifically need a high-end Android tablet rather than a basic media device.
For Indian consumers, the key decision will be whether the Ultra’s larger display justifies the additional cost and weight. If maximum screen space is the priority, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is the stronger choice. If portability and value within the flagship range matter more, the Galaxy Tab S12+ is likely to be the more practical option.Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra India launch
